Neighborhood Service Organization (NSO) is a Detroit-based health and human service agency that strengthens communities and vulnerable populations by delivering holistic care and wrap-around services. On any given day, there are 15,700 homeless individuals on the streets of Detroit, with many often being victims of other issues including chronic health conditions, food insecurity, mental illness, drug addiction, and abuse. Proceeds from the Handlebars for the Homeless (H4H) fundraiser will benefit NSO programs and services, such as our Homeless Recovery Services, that support these individuals. Each year, the Handlebars for the Homeless fundraiser involves a 16-mile bike ride tour through the City of Detroit.  For the first time, this event will be held virtually from August 6 – August 31, and participants across the country will be able to ride 16-miles anytime and anywhere. Upon registering, all participants will receive a raffle entry into our grand prize raffle which will take place virtually on August 31.
