What is the Black Bear Gran Fondo? It’s a race, it’s a ride,  it’s an event for cyclists of all abilities and it’s a celebration at the finish line! Choose one of three chip-timed loops. Challenging elevations, rolling hills and flats on all three routes. Self-organized start based on riding speed and training program.  Timing starts when you roll across the starting line. Bring a friend or bring an entire team!  Here are some of the things you can expect with your registration:

  • On-site registration event weekend as follows:
    • Friday, July 10, 2020, 5PM-7:00PM – Northbound Outfitters in Grayling, MI
    • Saturday, July 11, 2020, 6:30A-8:30P – Main Lodge of Hanson Hills Recreation Area
  • Rustic camping behind the Main Lodge of Hanson Hills on Friday evening, July 11. Bathrooms in Main Lodge of HHRA and porta-potties also available.
  • Self-serve continental breakfast in the Rotary Pavilion at Hanson Hills Recreation Area on Saturday, July 11, 2020 from 6:30A-8:00A
  • Plenty of parking on the grounds of HHRA (look for signs)
  • Starting times: 100 miles = 8:00 AM, 62 miles = 8:30 AM, 45 miles = 9:00 AM
  • Chip timing through Endurance Evolution and,
  • Live to web results posted on the enduranceevolution.com site. Results also posted to  our RunSignUp page and linked on the Black Bear Gran Fondo Facebook page
  • 5 rest stations (some shared with all three routes) with nutrition and hydration approximately every 20 miles
  • Corner marshals on nearly all turns and when they aren’t, you’ll see clear signage
  • Roving SAG (support and gear) mechanics and SWEEPs following each of the loops
  • Music, fun and friends at the finish line with a tasty celebration meal under the Rotary Pavilion at Hanson Hills Recreation Area
  • Craft beer
