In consideration of the Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic, we have relaxed our cancellation and refund policy for this year.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

We understand things happen in life and sometimes you have to cancel your registration. We want to make it as easy as possible to do so. Please note we do not make individual exceptions in our cancellation policy (including family, medical, or employment situations). To protect your investment, we strongly recommend insurance. Please consult with your trusted insurance provider.

2020 Cancellation and Refund Policy Update

As you know, all of us are now facing a unique situation with the Coronavirus pandemic. With our tours still months away, we are currently still planning to hold each event. This may change based on internal decisions made by LMB or due to local, state or national mandates related to large events. We will make decisions event by event, prioritizing the health and well-being of our riders, staff, volunteers, and the communities we pass through.

One decision we have made is to relax our 2020 Cancelation and Refund Policy (changes in blue) to make it easier to change your plans due to the Coronavirus. This is a significant decision for LMB as a majority of the funding for our work comes from tour proceeds. We know that this pandemic is creating hardships for everyone and make this decision seeking to support our tour participants during this difficult time.

Once this difficult year has passed, we will return to our original Cancellation and Refund Policy. We have struck out the original for your reference.


Single Day Events

A 100% transferrable credit is available for anyone who wishes to defer their participation to a 2021 or 2022 LMB event or transfer the credit to another person. This includes the price of any add on items including bus, ferry, and extra baggage fees. This does not include any merchandise, credit card or banking fees.

Refunds requested within one week 30 days of registering for the event will be granted a refund less a $10 cancellation fee  a full refund. This includes the price of any add on items including bus, ferry, and extra baggage fees. This does not include merchandise, credit card or banking fees.

Refunds requested after one week 30 days of registration and at least 15 days before the event will be issued a refund less a $25 cancellation fee for each registration. This includes the price of any add on items including bus, ferry, and extra baggage fees. This does not include merchandise, credit card or banking fees.

There are no refunds or transfer credits for cancellation requests made less than 15 days prior to the event. This includes the price of any add on items including bus, ferry, and extra baggage fees, merchandise, credit card or banking fees.

Any ordered merchandise will be shipped directly to the participant as soon as possible after the merchandise arrives at LMB offices.

No refunds or credits will be issued during the event, including:

  • Participant arrived late to the event.
  • Participant departed early from the event.
  • Participant was asked to leave the event by LMB.
  • Participant paid for food, lodging, transportation, tickets or any other items which they did not use.

Multi Day Tours

A 100% transferrable credit is available for anyone who wishes to defer their participation to a 2021 or 2022 LMB event or transfer the credit to another person. This includes the price of any add on items including bus, ferry, and extra baggage fees. This does not include any merchandise, credit card or banking fees.

Refunds requested within one week 30 days of registering for the tour will be granted a refund less a $50 cancellation fee as long as the request occurs 15 or more days before the start of the tour. This includes the price of any add on items including bus, ferry, and extra baggage fees. This does not include merchandise, credit card or banking fees

For requests made after one week 30 days of registering and more than 60 30 days before the start of the tour, a 70% refund of the registration fee will be issued. This includes the price of any add on items including bus, ferry, and extra baggage fees. This does not include merchandise, credit card or banking fees.

For refund requests made between 60 30 and 15 days before the start of the tour, a 50% refund of the registration fee will be issued. This includes the price of any add on items including bus, ferry, and extra baggage fees. This does not include merchandise, credit card or banking fees.

There are no refunds or transfer credits for cancellation requests made less than 15 days prior to the tour.

Any ordered merchandise will be shipped directly to the participant as soon as possible after the merchandise arrives at LMB offices.

No refunds or credits will be issued during the tour, including:

  • Participant arrived late to the tour.
  • Participant departed early from the tour.
  • Participant was asked to leave the tour by LMB.
  • Participant paid for food, lodging, transportation,  tickets or any other items which they did not use.

Tour Cancellations

If LMB is required to cancel a tour in 2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic, registered participants will be notified via email and offered three options:

  1. Donate their entire registration fee and receive a donation receipt, as a 501(c)(3) organization, your donation is tax-deductible.
  2. Transfer 100% of their registration fee to a future event in 2021 or 2022, individuals who exercise this option can also transfer this to another individual.
  3. request a refund of 50% of their registration fee and a tax-deductible donation receipt for the balance.

This includes the price of add on items including bus, ferry, and extra baggage fees. This does not include credit card or banking fees. Any ordered tour jerseys and t-shirts will be refunded in full. The original cancellation language follows:

LMB reserves the right to cancel tours due to low enrollment in which case the participant’s fees will be refunded in full.

The League of Michigan Bicyclists (LMB) may cancel or reroute an event or tour due to the occurrence of any force majeure event or credible threat thereof, including but not limited to any Act of God, fire, earthquake, acts of civil or military authority, casualty, flood, war, terrorist attack, epidemic, insurrection, civil unrest, strikes or other labor activities or any other similar cause beyond the reasonable control of LMB, including environmental conditions that might threaten the health and safety of Event participants, volunteers or staff. You understand and agree that your registration fees and other costs will not be refunded by LMB if all or any portion of a LMB Event is canceled or rerouted due to a force majeure event. You release and hold LMB harmless for any costs or damages incurred as a result of cancellation or rerouting of a LMB Event due to a force majeure event.


Membership Cancellations

Participants who purchase an LMB membership with their registration and then cancel will not have their membership fee refunded.


Credits

Unfortunately, we can no longer provide credits for any reason. This does not include any merchandise, credit card or banking fees.


Transfers

Riders who are unable to participate in an event or tour may transfer their registration to another rider. Until 15 days before the start of the event or tour, LMB will permit transfers for any reason. Transfers between registrants are only allowed within the same calendar year.

Transfer requests must be made in writing or via email to tours@LMB.org. Please make sure any request made by traditional postal service are postmarked as this is the date used to determine transfer eligibility. Otherwise, the date will be determined by the date of receipt at the LMB office.

Both riders must notify LMB of the transfer in writing. Make sure to include the following details:

  • The original rider must include their name, valid email address, phone number, and complete mailing address.
  • The new rider must include their name, valid email address, phone number, complete mailing address, an emergency contact (name, email, mailing address and phone number).

If any side trip, transportation, or upgrade options are desired by the new rider which was not included in the original rider’s registration, they may purchase these options by visiting LMB.org/tours and navigating to their tour of choice. LMB will not act as an agent in any financial transactions between riders. Riders assume all financial risks in these transactions.

In the case of transfers within 30 days of the tour, LMB cannot guarantee the correct t-shirt size for the substitute rider.

If an Event or Tour is full, and a waitlist is being maintained, no transfers will be permitted.
