What's new with the Wolver-Bents
Monthly Wolver-Bents rides are taking place in Southeast Michigan (see www.wolverbents.org/rides for details). Also, the 2007 Michigan Recumbent Rallies (East, Central, and West) are coming up, starting with the Michigan Recumbent Rally East on May 12th. See Michigan Recumbent Events for details.
About Us
Have you already discovered the fun and speed of recumbents? Or are you becoming tired of the "pain" of riding a regular bike? Join the Wolver-Bents for their monthly recumbent demonstrations and rides. Wolver-Bents is a very informal group with two main goals:
To offer current recumbent riders a chance to meet as well as ride on a regular basis.
To allow those interested in recumbents a chance to examine various bicycles, talk to current owners, and have recumbent questions answered.
For those not familiar with recumbents, these bicycles have an extremely comfortable, lightweight "chair" to sit on instead of a painful, narrow saddle. To recumbent riders, neck, back, wrist and seat pain are virtually unknown. While major bicycle manufacturers (and most bicycle shops) have ignored recumbents, the number of these bicycles being produced by smaller companies is growing by leaps and bounds. For more information about recumbents, including the most frequently asked questions, visit www.ihpva.org/FAQ or print out our Wolver-Bents "Buying Your First Recumbent" page.
Membership
No dues or membership applications are required to join the Wolver-Bents as the group is more or less a gathering place and time for recumbent enthusiasts rather than a formal bicycle club.
E-Mail Newsletter
To be placed on a Wolver-Bents E-News, send a message to Bob Krzewinski. You will then receive about 10-12 e-mail messages a year about recumbent activities in Michigan and the central Great Lakes including a monthly reminder about the Wolver-Bents rides. Your name and e-mail address will not be given out to junk e-mail senders (we hate spam too!)
Please note that occasionally the monthly Wolver-Bents E-News are returned to the Wolver-Bents as "undeliverable" due to an invalid e-mail address. If you signed up for the E-News list but have not received an issue in at least 45 days, please send an e-mail to Bob to reactivate your listing.
Wolver-Bents Message Center
For those who want to subscribe, the Wolver-Bents has a "message center" established where recumbent riders can exchange messages back and forth, on a group forum basis. This "message center" is purely voluntary, requiring an e-mail request to join. A person can also unsubscribe at any time from the list if no longer interested. There is no charge for being on the message center. Please note, however, to help eliminate spam senders from sending items to the list, any request to be placed on the message center has to be approved by a moderator.
