2008 Time Trial Final Results |
2011 TIME TRIALS It’s
time to dust the winter cobwebs of your bikes and start preparing for
the 2011 Time Trials held in Ada Park until Monday
August 29th. (There will be no Time Trial on Memorial Day or the
4th of July.) We meet at the corner of Grand River and Buttrick
in Ada, MI. Sign up is from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. in the Grand River
Parking lot of Ada Park. MAP
Riders of all abilities are welcome. If you are a slower or
novice rider, arrive early enough to sign up for an early start time or
contact the ride coordinator in advance. We will send the first
rider off at 6:30 p.m. Riders will leave in 30 second
intervals. The course is down in back for a total of
approximately 15 miles, and the terrain is flat to gently rolling.Tom Burke. (Photo: Mike Hamel) Please note that the Rapid Wheelmen membership fee has increased to $25 per family for one year or $65 per family for 3 years. Therefore, it will cost $25 per family to participate in the Time Trials for one year if you do not already have a Rapid Wheelmen membership. We hope the additional expense won’t pose any hardship on any participants. Please be sure to also thank our sponsor, the Grand Rapids Bicycle Company, for helping to cover many of the Time Trial expenses. We look Left to right: Alexia Rufus from The Motion Initiative, her volunteer chaperone Jim Bruxvoort, and Ryan Phelps. (Photo: Mike Hamel) It takes a couple dozen volunteers to run the Time Trials for the 4 month season. If you would like to help by volunteering, or you have any questions about anything, please contact me. The Time Trials is truly an event for participants at any level of fitness. We welcome people who have never ridden in a race before as well as Lisa Mead (Photo: Mike Hamel) Check out TT Rules for more information. Children are welcome but subject to special rules (pdf).
