2005 RAPID WHEELMEN TIME TRIALS YEAR END RESULTS

Group Averages and Statistics

There were 118 riders in the 2005 Time Trials. This was up from 79 riders in 2004. We had a total of 16 Time Trials this year — taking holidays off. The lowest number of participants in one week was 15 riders and the highest was 34 riders. We had on average 27 riders per week. There were 44 riders who only participated one time this season. The remaining 74 riders participated on average 5.3 times this season. Our youngest rider was Kellan Buddy, 10 years old, and our most senior rider was Jochen Ditterich, 69 years old.

There were 26 female participants this year — up from 17 in 2004. But in terms of percentage of riders, women made up only 21% of the total participants again — same as in 2004. We may try some kind of contest in 2006 to try to increase this percentage. Participation awards for women go to Janice Vancerbilt (10 times), Kim Kordeck (7 times), and Elizabeth Hagar (6 times). Participation awards for men go to Dave Ryskamp (15 times), Tom Szarowicz (14 times), and Robert Schuler, Wilhelm Löwe, and John Crankshaw (13 times each).

TIES: In case of personal best times that are tied, we went to the racer’s second best time as a tie breaker. When a racer had only participated one time, the benefit of the doubt was given to the person who participated more than once.
