- Metro Detroit Bike Commuter - This Web page is dedicated to the bicycle commuter who braves weather and traffic in order to get in some exercise and fun going to and from work. On this page you will find links to check the local "Weather", "Routes", to different Detroit and out lying work locations or areas, commuter hints and "Tips", "Bike Shop", to help you locate a local bike shop or "Links" to get more information on bikes and accessories.
- Detroit Bikes! to Work Day - Join the Detroit Bikes' "workforce" on a ride to work, with our main event featuring the Woodward Cooridor. As part of the bigger "National Bike to Work Day," this is the first event of its kind in Detroit. We welcome experienced cyclists, along with casual friday co-workers, who want to get to work on 2-wheels rather than 4! Commuter Challenge - Commuter Challenge is a fun and exciting competition between companies and employees that encourages carpooling and vanpooling, riding public transportation, biking and walking, and utilizing telework and flextime benefits.
- RideShare is a free carpool and vanpool matching service that links commuters traveling into or within Southeast Michigan for work. Since 1980, RideShare has assisted more than 100,000 Detroit carpoolers and vanpoolers with their requests.
- The Detroit People Mover - The Mission of the Detroit Transportation Corporation, is to provide safe, reliable, efficient and accessible rail transportation services that will serve to enhance business development and quality of life functions in Detroit by augmenting pedestrian travel and by supporting both private conveyances and other modes of public transportation. Stations with bike racks are Grand Circus Park, Cadillac Center, Financial District and Broadway.
- Back Alley Bikes - What can you do in Detroit when you get a flat tire (or bad brake, etc.) don't have a dime in your pocket, and you need to get going? Or how about when you want to make a difference in your community, and want to be learning new skills at the same time? Maybe you are out to change the world and have dreams of a bike revolution taking over the motor city. Whatever your reasons, everybody is welcome at Back Alley Bikes to use tools, get advice and assistance in fixing their bikes, and work on donated bikes for Detroit Summer volunteers and community groups around the city to use! Back Alley Bikes is a community bike space that aims to fix bikes, provide information and education, promote creative expression, and address issues of our time through the spread of bike culture.

Smart Commute - Did you know that employees are happier and healthier when traveling to work is fun and energizing? This is one of the big reasons for Smart Commute ’06—a program that promotes activities and resources to help people who work or live in the Capital to choose Smart Transportation Options such as bicycling, riding the bus, carpooling, and walking for transportation.
- CATA Clean Commute Options - After Lansing failed the EPA air quality standards CATA (Capitol Area Transit Authority) launched this initiative to help improve air quality standards. Learn more about Clean Commute Options and general bussing information for the Tri-County Area.
- Route Information (CrossTown Bike Map) - Tri-County Bicycle Association
The Crosstown Bicycle Route Map was developed to help riders enjoy getting around the metropolitan Lansing area while avoiding the busiest roads as much as possible. Although the target group was beginners and those not familiar with the area, it has proved to be useful to many others.

BikeLansing Listserve - Bike Lansing is an email list serve that is a forum for general bike commuting questions (best routes, clothing, ride partners...) for the Greater Lansing Area. MSU Bikes - now housed in a centrally-located facility known as the MSU Bikes Service Center, will continue to lease refurbished bicycles, offer repair services and promote bicycling to the campus community.Formerly known as the MSU Bike Project, the group was a volunteer-run initiative of the MSU Office of Campus Sustainability, but it is now part of MSU Transportation Services.
- Share-a-Bike Program: Bicycles and helmets provided to individuals who visit with a letter of reference from a human services agency, or who are willing to contribute volunteer time to the project. - Kids Repair Program: Program teaches kids (9 through 17 yrs) how to do basic repairs and maintain their bikes. At the end of the 20 hour course, each gets a graduation certificate, lock and helmet, and their own refurnished bike. The program costs $7 for Lansing School District students, and runs June through September. KRP is also frequently looking for volunteers to out with courses. More info: (517) 325-7308.
