| This bio written by Webmaster Paul Bruneau because Paul Pancella has not submitted one yet:
Dr. Paul Pancella was my first contact with an "HPV Person". The year was 1997. He was coordinating the Recumbent Rally West which at the time took place on the campus of Western Michigan University where Paul is a physics professor and is currently the Chair of the Physics Department.
When I met him, Paul had already been involved in the MHPVA and HPV advocacy in general for many years. I don't even know how long!
Paul used to ride a Lightning and in those very old days he would actually win HPV races with it, even taking the stock championship one year!
With the rise of the lowracers in the US HPV racing scene, Paul started losing, and so bought a very heavy M5 Lowracer and did a lot of racing with it for several years.
In 2004, Paul acquired a Volae Team for use as a commute/touring vehicle and proclaimed that he was retired from racing (mostly).
The video on the right aired on Kalamazoo's WWMT in August, 2005, and shows Paul's now tame riding habits. You'll need QuickTime to view it, which you can get from the link below.
