MHPVA, Wolver-Bents Annual Meeting - Saturday, February 17, 2007

The annual joint meeting of the Wolver-Bents and Michigan Human Powered Vehicle Association (MHPVA) will be held on Saturday, February 17th from 1pm-4pm at the Francois Xavier Bagnoud Building (corner of Beal and Hayward) on the Ann Arbor University of Michigan North Campus. There will be talks and displays on all types of human powered vehicles, with an emphasis on recumbent bicycles. The University of Michigan Human Powered Helicopter and Submarine Teams are expected to have a display and talk (if you want to see the sub/helicoptor displays, please be at the building at 12:45pm). Bob K's "Buying your first recumbent" presentation will be given at 12:30pm.

The meeting format will first have a short (10 minute) Wolver-Bents "meeting" will be held, followed by a show and tell on stage of recumbent bikes, and then finally the MHPVA business session will close the meeting. Everyone is encouraged to bring their recumbents for "show and tell," as well as going out for a short group ride on nearby non-motorized trails (weather permitting - ride maps provided). The easiest way to reach the meeting site is to use the Plymouth Road exit of US 23 (northeast side of Ann Arbor), going west on Plymouth Road to Murfin Street. Go south on Murfin to Hayward until you reach Beal.

Like the winter weather this year, this newsletter is a couple months late. But instead of being the fault of irresponsible nations like the change in weather might be, the tardiness of the newsletter is the fault of me.

Sure there were horrible, hopelessly fatiguing family health issues that came into play, but we all have those and I do not use them as an excuse.

Thanks and apologies to Wally, Mike E., Mike M., and LMB web man Bill Duemling for picking up the slack.

If you love putting together newsletters on time please consider mentioning it at the annual meeting, since despite my best intentions, I continue to have a hard time publishing on time.
