June 17-18 -- National 24 Hour Challenge, starts 8 a.m., Grand Rapids area. Not a race but a chance to test yourself and set your own record on how far you can ride in 24 hours. No fairings allowed. Camping available at starting point. www.n24hc.org

July 8-9 -- Saturday: Bryant Tucker 100 at newly repaved velodrome in Northbrook, Illinois. Sunday: Cheddar Cheese Challenge at velodrome in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Sept. 10 -- Vineyard Classic Bicycle Tour, Paw Paw, where recumbent cyclists meet at the start of the ride for the very informal "wine and recline ride."

Sept. 16 -- HPRA HPV races, Hawkeye Downs Speedway, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. First time event on half-mile banked oval, with quarter-mile track in the infield, which should allow for high speeds and varied events.
