road rules .. to be followed while riding with the bluc rides

[1] never cross over the yellow line.

[2] Double paceline.

[3] Obey all the laws

[4] Hold your line. If you are overtaking another rider call out, "ON YOUR LEFT", then pass on the left.  If someone yells, "STICK," then that means hold your line.  If you can't pass without crossing hte yellow line then don't.

[5] when calling out the route avoid stating "straight" since it could be confused with "right." Instead lets use FORWARD. Remind people when you are out there.

[6] Remember, even though you are in a pack, it is up to you to ride safely and especially in intersections make sure no cars are coming. In that vein, we generally don't want to state much that might confuse others but please don't use the term "clear" as it could be confused with "car" which wouldn't be so bad but the reverse could be catastrophic!! State PEACEFUL or PEACE when trying to help others out. This has worked well for us for a few years now. Again, always be on the lookout yourself, and to quote Groucho Marx, "Who are you going to believe, ME or YOUR OWN EYES?!!!"

[7] No "aero-bars" in the pace line. If someone is using them remind them to get back to the drops when in a pack. Aerobars are best with singleriders.  In a paceline, especially in-town, sometimes you need to immediately jump on the brakes (hole, car pulling out front, traffic, etc, etc.) and being on aerobars normally does not give one quick enough response..
