LMB is excited to announce six Community Bicycle Safety for Law Enforcement training sessions will take place across the state this spring and summer.
Sessions are scheduled in Norton Shores, Flint, Northville, Portage, Sault Ste Marie, and Mount Pleasant. The interactive five-hour sessions will cover topics including basic safe bicycling skills, the Motor Vehicle Code (MVC)/Michigan Compiled Laws (MCL), the role of law enforcement personnel in bicycle safety, and more. An optional bicycle rodeo training will take place after each course. The $15 registration fee includes coffee, pastries, and lunch.
Though the course of study was put together for law enforcement personnel, the trainings are open to the public. Eash session is designed to be interactive and stimulate discussion about real-world situations. Bicyclists in the community are strongly encouraged to attend in order to foster this kind of dialogue.
