WE NEED YOUR HELP!
LMB has more legislative issues in the works than ever before and two of them have been scheduled for committee hearings next week! Please use the buttons below to sign our Action Alerts to contact your lawmakers and voice your support of our 5-foot safe passing/driver's ed improvement bills and our bill to clarify the definition of an obstructed license plate. Please be sure to return to this page to sign both actions. We also encourage you to share the Action Alerts on social media so that we can get as many messages as possible into lawmakers' offices ahead of the hearings. Thank you for your support!
Please take action today by writing your lawmakers in support of our 5-foot passing and drivers education improvement bills aimed at safeguarding Michigan bicyclists. The legislation is in play in both the House and Senate, with the House versions up for a hearing in the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. By submitting your information, you will be contacting your local Senator, Representative, and all the members of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
Our bill to clarify the definition of an obstructed license plate to exclude a rear-mounted bicycle rack (HB 5100) is scheduled for a hearing in the House Tourism and Outdoor Recreation Committee on Wednesday, Nov 1 at 12:00 p.m. in Room 326 of the House Office Building. Please urge your Representatives to prevent needless traffic stops for bicyclists. By submitting your information, you will be contacting your local Representative and all the members of the House Tourism and Outdoor Recreation Committee.
