Dollar-Per-Ride-2017There are many ways to enjoy the summer months bicycling and giving back while you ride; we invite you to check out this month’s $1 per Rider Events! The organizers of these rides have pledged to donate $1 to LMB for every person who registers for their event. Those dollars add up quickly, and help tremendously in LMB’s education and advocacy work. We hope you will help support us, simply by registering for one of the stellar events below this month!

Pedal & Whine Bike Tour
Come & experience rural Jackson County countryside by bike. The four routes will be well marked and SAG supported. Routes are paved, rolling, shaded and low traffic. A delicious lunch will be provided 11 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. by Sandhill Crane Vineyards (lunch for non-riders available for purchase). Riders will have the option of purchasing wine at the Vineyards.

Habitat for Humanity- Bike to Build
Bike to Build is a fundraiser for Habitat For Humanity Clinton County. By participating and raising funds for Bike to Build, you are partnering with Habitat For Humanity to eliminate substandard housing in Clinton County.

Tour Da U.P.
08/06/17- 08/10/17
Enjoy the beauty of the Keweenaw Peninsula on this 5-day on-road tour. Camping at State Parks with stops at various historic locations make this more than just another tour, it's a vacation by bike! Several excursions and activities in Copper Harbor on your lay over day to choose from. Kayaking Lake Superior, mountain biking the best trails in the state of Michigan, hikes to scenic vistas, or picking Agates on rocky beaches are just a few.

One Day Ride Across Michigan- ODRAM
Be a part of one of the Michigan traditions - 150ish miles in one day or One Day Ride Across Michigan.
You can start by dipping your rear wheel in Lake Michigan and finish by dipping your front wheel in Lake Huron. This ride is a benefit for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation - Working to find a cure for Type 1 diabetes.

Harvest Bicycle Century Tour

Harvest Bicycle Century Tour on Sunday, August 13, has well marked routes of 15, 25, 40, 62, & 100 miles on good paved roads in LaPorte Co., IN, & Berrian Co., MI.

Wayne State University Baroudeur
The Baroudeur is Wayne State University’s cycling event to raise money for student scholarships. The Baroudeur is a fun, noncompetitive event that gives riders an opportunity to explore the Motor City and surrounding area on two wheels. In total, participants pass through a dozen municipalities before crossing the finish line on campus and enjoy lunch, craft beer and music.

Bike More Edmore Ride
This is a recreational and social fun ride through the beautiful rural Montcalm County countryside of Michigan. You will travel on the paved Fred Meijer Heartland Trail and Flat River Trail to Greenville then back to the village of Edmore.
During this scenic bicycle ride, you will pass through woodlands, meadows, wetlands, tunnel of trees, farmland and over many bridges and boardwalks.

11 Legged Lake Tour

Start your day with flapjacks/sausage then enjoy scenic routes around quaint villages, picturesque orchards and the beautiful Chain O'Lakes including Torch. Delicious lunch when you return and a complimentary entry into a raffle for a $250 gift card to American Cycle & Fitness.

Assenmacher 100
Swartz Creek
The Assenmacher 100 bicycle ride is a recreational and social fun ride on paved rural roads through the farmland and villages of Genesee, Shiawassee and Clinton Counties. With routes including distances of 20, 32, 50, 62, and 100 miles, there are courses for casual cyclists as well as more experienced riders.

Big Bear Butt Cruise
Routes cross scenic Big Manistee River, to scenic M22 along Lake Michigan coast from Manistee to Frankfort. Eight food stops, of which seven are on water with Beautiful views. Free Camping, Breakfast, Dinner and T-shirt. Enjoy Bonfires, Music, Wineries and Brewery. Free camping Thursday - Sunday night.

Peach of a Ride
Family friendly, SAG supported routes of 23, 40, 60 and 100 mile through scenic orchards, farms and forests of Macomb, St Clair and Lapeer counties. Abundantly stocked rest stops featuring the famous Slow Spokes homemade cookies and lunch. Vegetarian friendly. Post ride entertainment provided by one of the areas accomplished musicians.

Strade Bianche Time Trial & Road Races

Western Michigan is the idyllic setting for these two spectacular single-day Italian-themed bicycle races in stunning Ottawa County—competitions reminiscent of tranquil Tuscan countryside where the Renaissance captured the world’s imagination centuries ago. Racing begins with Chrono Strade Bianche, the ultimate test of rider and machine, a 20km trial against the clock on a fast, technical seven-turn course stretched across exceptionally groomed gravel/dirt roads—strade bianche, or white roads, in the Italian language—that periodically join smooth, fast pavement to ribbon through rolling, creek-crossed and tree-lined landscape. Later this same day, compete in the Strade Bianche Road Races that combine the same challenging mix of pavement and low-travelled, well manicured gravel/dirt surfaces to draw out your technical skills and enjoyment.

East Lansing
Michigan's Epic end-of-summer, camping bicycle tour! Gorgeous scenery, varied terrain, and amazing vistas greet DALMAC riders on every route. 4 routes offer the availability of crossing the Mackinac Bridge on your bike! This family-friendly, all-ages, supported bike tour is a must-do for any bicyclist, whether beginner or experienced, relaxed paced or speedy.
