My bicycling background goes back to my high school days when a friend and I decided to pedal around Lake Michigan on a Schwinn Varsity. Now that I'm semi-retired, I do multi-day loaded and supported tours, as well as local Club rides. In 2015, I completed a 1500 mile trek from Wilmington NC to Brunswick ME on the Adventure Cycling Atlantic route. I have also participated in several supported tours along the length of the Wisconsin River (GRABAAWR) and numerous LMB Shoreline West rides since the tour's 20th anniversary in 2006. I have been a volunteer for Shoreline West ride for the past five years. I currently live in Traverse City, am the Membership Director for the Cherry Capital Cycling Club, am a Club ride leader, and am involved in numerous local cycling events (e.g. Ride Around Torch, Leelanau Harvest Tour, and the Ride of Silence). As a former Civil Engineer and business owner, I have experience with road and bike route design, as well as a financial background. I would like to join LMB's Board to put my practical experience to use in promoting bicycling and safe riding on Michigan roads.
