Norm founded The Greenway Collaborative in 1993. Since that time his career has focused on planning pedestrian and bicycle networks, designing non-motorized facilities and strategically promoting active transportation. His work integrates best practices for safe travel, placemaking and sustainable design elements to help communities transform their streets into vital public spaces and functional multi-modal transportation corridors. Norm has worked on multi-modal transportation plans for numerous cities, townships, counties, regions and universities throughout Michigan and Ohio. He is known for crafting innovative approaches that incorporate engaging public input and cutting edge technology. Norm tries to practice what he preaches and is a year-round bicycle commuter.
