There are separate submission forms for submitting an event to the print and online version of the Michigan Ride Calendar. Please make sure to use both links below if you want your event to appear on our website and also in the printed version of the publication. We hope to streamline the submission process in the future so you will only need to fill out one form. We apologize about the extra step. A helpful tip is to type out your event details in a seperate Word document so you can easily copy and paste the text into both forms. Note: The deadline for inclusion in the printed version is October 31st. There is no deadline for submitting to the online version.
Submitting your event to the LMB website is relatively simple. It's helpful to open these step by step instructions in a separate browser window so you can easily reference them as you are creating your event.
NOTE: Submitting your event to be listed on our website is a separate precess than submitting your event to be listed in the printed version of the Ride Calendar. Please remember that you will still need to fill out the separate printed Ride Calendar submission form if you want your event to appear in the print version of the calendar. We apologize about the extra step. We hope to streamline the process for the future. A helpful tip is to type out your event details in a seperate Word document so you can easily copy and paste the text into both forms. You can submit to the printed version at: https://secureonlineregister.com/lmb/index.php?f=13&show_reload=true
The print version of the 2010 Michigan Ride Calendar is now available. The calendar was mailed with the latest edition of the Michigan Bicyclist Magazine to all LMB members the last week of January.
To preview or download the print version of the Ride Calendar use the "Download / Preview PDF Version" link below.
We also have an online version available. (note: some events that did not make the print calendar deadline may appear in the online version. Conversely, not all event organizers who submitted events to the print calendar have submitted their events on our online version.)
Put simply, "Dollar per Rider" participating groups have agreed to donate $1 to the League of Michigan Bicyclists for every rider in these events, to help us carry out our mission of promoting bicycling and increasing the safety of bicyclists on the roadways in Michigan. These generous donations help LMB work on statewide issues that affect every bicyclist every day.
LMB represents bicyclists at the state capitol, with MDOT, with Safe Routes To School and with other governmental bodies. We help write legislation and react to legislation that may endanger bicyclists. We develop education tools for bicyclists (such as the "What Every Michigan Bicyclist Must Know" booklet) for personal use and for improving the bicycling environment in their communities.
The reality of the world today is that it takes money to keep on top of issues and to provide these education tools. Our income is derived from four major sources. Our primary source is the proceeds from the four major tours we run annually. (We also receive funds from membership and contracts with the state.) Contributions are our second largest source of funding. These funds come from both individuals and the "Dollar per Rider" program.
We believe the "Dollar per Rider" program is an easy way for thousands of riders each year to support a statewide organization whose sole purpose is simply to improve the quality of their riding experience.
We encourage every one of you to ask your club's or organization's leaders to make their events "Dollar per Rider" sponsors, to help LMB promote bicycling and the safety of bicyclists on the roadways in Michigan.
In 2009, 6,539 riders participated in 22 pledging events, resulting in a combined donation of $6,539 to the League of Michigan Bicyclists. We graciously thank our 2009 donors and encourage all Michigan cyclists to participate in Dollar per Rider" events in 20010.

Be kind to the LMB staff and volunteers...please pre edit your images to pick out your best photos (10 or less is ideal, but if you have more than 10 amazingly great cycling photos feel free to send more.)
We love big files! Digital photos should be at least 300dpi resolution and 3 x 4 inches in dimension (or the equivalent, i.e. 72dpi at approximately 12 x 16 inches or 150 dpi at 6 x 8 inches) If this is complete gibberish to you, have no worries! We can accept lower resolution images but may not be able to use them for all print purposes. If you don't know how to check your resolution just send them anyways.
Include your last name in the photo file name (if possible), i.e. Jamison001.jpeg or Jamisontandemriders.jpeg
Ride and people photos must have a bicycling in Michigan theme so no shots of a Florida ride! We can accept "general bike themed" photos not from Michigan that are not place specific (i.e. close up artful photos of bike components).
Any cyclists shown actually riding must be wearing a fastened helmet.
Don't forget to let your creativity shine - we are looking for "artsy" and "unusual" bicycle themed photos in addition to "traditional" ride images. Thanks in advance and we look forward to immortalizing your wonderful photos showing off the diversity, challenges, humor and excitement of bicycling in Michigan!
