2010 Michigan Bicycle Summit RoundupThis year's Summit was our most successful in terms of participation. A total of 102 bicyclists took part in the Summit. Following the Keynote by Andy Clark, League of American Bicyclists, there were 12 different workshops throughout the balance of the day. Twelve hardy soles took part in a chilly ride after the event. A special thank you to Peckham, Inc. for hosting us. If you missed the Summit scroll down for more information on the presentations.
A panel discussion on bicycling was held on Friday night before the Summit at the Awards Reception. Andy Clarke, Executive Director - League of American Bicyclists, Chris Phelan, Founder - Ride of Silence and Rich Moeller, Executive Director - LMB made up the panel. An audience of over 50 asked questions ranging from how will England fare in the World Cup without David Beckham to a 3' Passing Law versus a Vulnerable User Law. For many this was the highlight of the weekend as the discussion was frank and the panelist did not always agree with each other - but all had a great time. Save the date now for the 2011 Michigan Bicycle Summit - March 26, 2011
