Page 1 of 6 Successful bicycle advocacy requires action and numbers. LMB annually organizes a lobby day at the State Capitol in Lansing where bicyclists converge to ask their state legislators to support bicycling and LMB's legislative agenda. LMB's annual Michigan Bicycle Summit is also an excellent opportunity to stay abreast on advocacy and education issues through a series a workshops, presentations and networking opportunities. Additionally, LMB highly encourages individual cyclists and shop owners to attend LAB's National Bicycle Summit held each spring in Washington DC to lobby on Capitol Hill and to learn about the latest bicycle advocacy trends across the country. Other annual events such as Bike to Work Month and Smart Commute festivals, as well as the Ride of Silence provide excellent opportunities for bicycle advocacy in your community.
