The LMB is a non-profit, tax-exempt statewide organization of more than 2,000 members working to improve conditions for bicycling in Michigan. LMB supports many programs and projects and cooperates with state and local agencies and other like-minded groups toward this goal.
LMB Projects include:
The Michigan Bicyclist Magazine: A quarterly membership publication with articles on touring, commuting, bicycling education and safety, physical conditioning, equipment and ride applications, as well as legislative action relevant to Michigan's bicyclists.
Shoreline Bicycle Tours - Circle, Bow Tie, West and Northern Exposure Fat Tire Tours. Circle, BowTie and West are on-road, weeklong and fully supported camping tours. Tour proceeds support the LMB's many statewide programs benefiting cyclists of all levels of experience. Shoreline Tours also show that bicycle touring is a fun, safe, and inexpensive family oriented vacation.
Shoreline Bicycle Tour - Middle da’ UP (MUP) is a closed loop tour held the first week of July. Join us on this brand new five-day road tour traveling down canopied forest highways and along picturesque Great Lakes shorelines.
Shoreline Bicycle Tour - West Route is the grandaddy of the tours. Started in 1987, the tour visits the lovely, quaint towns and villages along Lake Michigan's shoreline from Holland to Mackinaw City. One week isn't nearly enough to see and do everything. This "must come back again" tour is held the first week of August.
For a Shoreline application or for more information visit the Shoreline section of our website.
